Guardian Road Crosswalk

A tragic vehicle-pedestrian collision occurred in our community on October 9. Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle while crossing Guardian Road at Grantham Drive. One of the pedestrians suffered serious injuries and passed away the following day. On behalf of the GCL we extend our condolenscences to the family of Mirranella Gatapia.

After this accident we received letters and comments from the community expressing concerns for pedestrian safety at this location. A letter was sent to the City of Edmonton about 6 months ago expressing concerns for pedestrian safety at this location. The GCL has recently followed up with the city regarding plans for this location and has received the response below.

Outdoor Soccer 2010

Volunteers Needed!

The Glastonbury Community League is looking for a VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE of approximately 6 volunteers to run the outdoor soccer season for 2010. The positions include:

As a reminder to all parents of outdoor soccer players, the Glastonbury Community League and our programs are entirely VOLUNTEER run. The success of the outdoor soccer program depends on having a dedicated group of volunteers to operate the program. Without these volunteers the outdoor soccer program will NOT operate. We depend on ALL parents to volunteer in some capacity to make the season a success.

Our soccer coordinator for the last 3 years, Tashsa Guest, has put in a tremendous amount of time and energy into making our community league soccer successful. The board of directors would like to thank her for her dedication and hard work!
