Summer Green Shack Program
The Summer Green Shack Program will again be running this summer. The Green Shack Program is a drop-in program for children aged 6-12 and features games, activities and crafts. This summer it will be split between the John Patrick Gillese Park on Glenwright Crescent and the new “Blue Park” at 57 Avenue and 208 Street. The program runs June 29 to August 14.

Bike Safety Programs
Once again the Glastonbury Community League and City of Edmonton Community Services are hosting the “Ride to Survive” and “4 Wheel Drive” bike safety programs for children.
Date: June 6, 2009
Time: 10:00 a.m. - Noon (ages 3-5) & 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (ages 6-12)
Place: West Edmonton Christian Assembly Parking Lot (6315 199 ST)
Cost: $5

Glastonbury Community Park Sponsors
Thank you to all of the families and businesses in Glastonbury that have made donations to our park initiative. We have been working closely with the city of Edmonton to get plans underway to build our playground in Glastonbury Field. The anticipated date of construction will be spring 2011. Spring Bottle Drive
Thank you to everyone who donated bottles to our bottle drive on May 2, 2009. We raised $3635.85. All of the proceeds are going towards the new playground. A huge thank you also to all of the volunteers who helped collect the bottles. We could not have done it without you!
Park Survey Prize Winners
Thank you to everyone who filled out the park survey. We received 167 responses, representing 607 members of the community. Thank you also to local businesses for donating prizes. In the coming months the members of the park committee will be using the results to help build our new park. Thank you again for your valuable input!

The dedicated volunteer who has led the program for the last two years is going to be moving on and a new volunteer or team of volunteers is needed to continue to operate the program. Nights Alive Program
West Edmonton Christian Assembly and the City of Edmonton have partnered to deliver a free drop in youth program called Nights Alive. The program is open to youth aged 12-17 every Saturday 7 to 10 PM beginning on March 14, 2009. See the poster for full details.
Park Fundraising
The Glastonbury Park Committee is currently raising funds for the first phase of our community park. A minimum of $70 000 must be raised by October 1, 2009 in order to apply for matching municipal and provincial grants. If you or your business would like to donate for the park please send your donation to #179, 17008-90 Avenue Edmonton, AB T5T 1L6 or contact Joanne at fundraising@glastonbury-cl.org.
All donations of $25 or more will receive tax receipts from the City of Edmonton by the end of the year. In addition all INDIVIDUAL donations of $100 or more will be receive permanent recognition at the park site when it is built. CORPORATE donations ranging from $500 to $25 000 will also receive varying levels of recognition.
