Glastonbury Playgroup

10 Week Session
Dates: Fridays April 17 to June 19, 2009
Place: From Within Wellness Centre, 6104-172 Street
Time: 9:30 to 11:00 am
Ages: 0-5 years olds with their parent or caregiver
Cost: $15
Playgroup includes a craft, songs, story time, snack time and of course playtime.

A community league membership is needed to register.
Glastonbury Playgroup is always looking for Volunteers. We are looking for someone to help run the program, craft preparation and lead music during playgroup sessions. If you are enthusiastic, fun and looking for something great to do please contact Bonnie at 780-489-5425. Glastonbury Playgroup also accepts any gently used toddler/kids toys. Possible items may include but not limited to Ride Ons, Pushing toys, Play tents/tunnels, Slides, Dress Up Clothes, Balls, Kitchens, Dolls etc. If you have any items you wish to donate or would like to sell at a minimal cost please contact Bonnie at 780-489-5425.

What is the Glastonbury Parents’ Network?
Being a parent can be a daunting task, especially for those who do not have a large support network, means to travel outside the community during the day or who are working from home while parenting. The Glastonbury Parents’ Network started in the summer of 2005 with some planned activities and went into hibernation in the late fall/winter. Some of the moms have jumped on board to slowly get it up and running again. Essentially, what they hope to accomplish over time is to create a means for moms and dads to:
• establish children’s playgroup times in our community
• meet other parents who are stay-at-home and/or work-at-home parents
• network for business purposes within our own community
• occasionally spend time without their children partaking in activities such as informal coffee klatches, movie nights, educational lectures/classes, etc.
One of the challenges is to find a location to hold regular events/activities. The Community League is working to solve this. Please continue to visit this website for information on potential upcoming events/activities.

How can I be involved?
The Parents’ Network is just getting started, so interested people are needed to ‘parent’ it. Do you have ideas for things our network can do? Can you attend a playgroup?
