Directors
The Glastonbury Community League is driven by a volunteer board of directors, with help of volunteers from the Glastonbury neighborhood – which includes The Grange and Parkland.

A full Board of Directors is comprised of fifteen individuals. All positions are for a two year term, except Directors-at-large which are for one year. Half of the two year term Board positions are up for election in odd numbered years, and half in even numbered years. Elections are held at the Annual General Meeting.

Board Position Descriptions
President
• presides at all General and all Board meetings of the League.
• is an ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating committee.
• is charged with the general supervision of all the activities of the League.
• has signing authority for the League
• the President or the Presidents’ appointed designate, will act as official spokesperson for the League.

Vice President
• in the absence of the President performs the duties of the President.
• has signing authority for the League
• is responsible for the annual reviews of Bylaws, Policies and Procedures.

Secretary
• attends, and keeps accurate minutes of, all General and Board meetings of the League.
• is responsible for minute and meeting notice distributions.
• is responsible for the minute book and other records of the League.
• is responsible for all correspondence of the League under the direction of the President or the Board.
• has signing authority for the League.
• is responsible for the seal of the League (detailed in Article 17.1 of the Bylaws).

Treasurer
• is responsible for all financial records of the League.
• is responsible, on behalf of or in the name of the League, for all monies collected or otherwise received, for issuing receipts, for payment of all accounts when properly approved, for keeping proper accounts, receipts, and vouchers of same, and for the deposit of funds to the League’s bank accounts.
• reports the financial standing at every Board and General Meeting.
• presents to the AGM an audited/reviewed statement of the financial affairs for the preceding fiscal year.
• reviews and prepares policy and procedures with respect to the financial matters of the league.
• recommends, in conjunction with the President, an Annual Budget to the Board of Directors.
• has signing authority for the League.

Membership Director
• is responsible for the organization, timing and completion of the annual Membership campaign.
• keeps a record of and maintains the membership lists and other records pertaining to memberships.
• ensures compliance with the EFCL Code of ethics with respect to selling memberships.
• prepares an annual budget for the Membership campaign and submits it to the Treasurer.
• prepares and reviews policy and procedure with respect to membership.
• reports monthly to the Board of Directors.

Volunteer Coordinator
• is responsible for coordinating all volunteer activity for the League.
• works with the Membership Director during the Annual Membership Drive to locate new or potential volunteers.
• maintains a current list of all active and potential volunteers including, but not limited to, their name, current address, phone number, email address, when available and area of volunteer interest (Sports, Programs, Events and so on.)
• is responsible for making sure that all required security clearances are in place.
• works closely with the Directors of all portfolios to make sure that they have the appropriate people available for their activities and that the Leagues Volunteer base is used efficiently and effectively.
• is responsible for the organizing of Volunteer Appreciation activities and events in cooperation with the Community Events and Facilities Directors.
• prepares and submits to the Treasurer, an annual budget for volunteer recruitment activities.
• reviews and prepares policy and procedures with respect to volunteers.
• reports monthly to the Board of Directors.

Programs Director
• is responsible for the organization and development of all non-sports programs.
• prepares and submits an annual budget for programs to the Treasurer.
• reviews and prepares policy and procedure with respect to Community League programs.
• reports monthly to the Board of Directors

Communications Director
• is responsible for the publication of the newsletter and participates in collecting articles for the newsletter.
• oversees the delivery of the newsletter.
• is responsible for the maintenance of the League’s website.
• arranges for publicity for League events.
• prepares and submits an annual budget for publicity to the treasurer.
• reviews and prepares policy and precedure with respect to publicity.
• reports monthly to the Board of Directors.

Sports Director
• is responsible for all matters pertaining to sports, including, but not limited to, organization and registration for all sports.
• recruits representatives or acts as the representative to sports governing bodies.
• prepares, and submits to the Treasurer, an annual budget for all sports programs.
• prepares and reviews policy and procedure with respect to sports programs.
• reports monthly to the Board of Directors.

Community Events Director
• is responsible for all matters pertaining to social activities of the League, including, but not limited to, Winter Fun Day, dances social nights and barbecues.
• prepares and submits to the Treasurer an annual budget with respect to social activities.
• reviews and prepares policy and procedure with respect to social activities.
• reports monthly to the Board of Directors.

Facilities Director
• is responsible for the supervision of hall rentals, and when required, ensures league access takes priority.
• is responsible for the development and maintenance of the community centre, rinks, parking lot, and other league facilities.
• prepares an annual budget for the facilities and submits it to the Treasurer.
• reviews and prepares policy and procedures with respect to all facilities.
• reports monthly to the Board of Directors

Fundraising Director
• is responsible for all fundraising activities as directed by the Board.
• will establish and maintain relations with potential non-government community partners for fundraising purposes.
• schedules individuals and groups to staff Casino/Bingo sessions sponsored by the League and attend meetings with any Casino/Bingo organizations with which the League affiliates.
• will apply for permits and ensure government regulations are followed regarding Casino/Bingo operations and revenues.
• prepares an annual fundraising budget and submits it to the Treasurer.
• prepares and reviews policy and procedures with respect to fundraising activities.
• reports monthly to the Board of Directors.
Director-at-large
• holds an introductory Board position with no specific portfolio, but with all the privileges and responsibilities of a Board member.
• works with and aids other Board members as required.

Neighborhood Watch Zone Leader
• acts as the community liaison with the Edmonton Police Service and other safety and crime prevention organizations.
• is responsible for all matters pertaining to Neighborhood Watch or safety and security concerns.
• performs duties as required by the Edmonton Neighborhood Watch Program Society
• reports monthly to the Board of Directors
