Volunteers

Community Leagues provide a valuable piece of the puzzle that makes up a vibrant and growing community. They provide a focus for sports children’s programs, social activities where you have the opportunity to meet your neighbors, plus programs and advocacy that aid in developing a safe and enjoyable community for everyone.

This does not happen by itself. It takes the will and support of the community, largely through volunteers, who give of their time and talents for the benefit of everyone in it. In order for a Community League to be successful, it requires individuals within the community to step forward, in whatever way they feel comfortable.

A truism of any volunteer organizations is, if no one volunteers, there is no organization. Nowhere is it more evident than in Community Leagues, where the availability of programs is directly related to the amount of community involvement. The number of people volunteering determines what can and cannot be offered.

Your Community League is looking for members for several Board positions. If you would like the opportunity to meet some interesting and community minded people, to practice a developed skill, or perhaps learn a new one, we would welcome your participation.

If a Board position is too big a commitment, perhaps you might consider a position on one of the committees that run specific programs or events. As the saying goes, many hands make light work.

Let’s work together to make our community, Parkland and the Grange, a great place to live.
